Macedonia and the United States held their strategic dialogue in Washington for the first time in four years, marking a significant renewal of high-level bilateral engagement between the two countries.

The Macedonian delegation, led by the Foreign Minister, met with senior State Department officials to discuss a wide range of topics including defense cooperation, Macedonia\'s EU integration path, and regional stability in the Western Balkans.

"This meeting sends a clear signal that the United States considers Macedonia a valued partner," the Foreign Minister said following the talks. "We discussed concrete steps to deepen our cooperation in defense, trade, and democratic governance."

The American side reaffirmed U.S. support for Macedonia\'s Euro-Atlantic aspirations and praised the country\'s contributions to NATO missions. Both sides agreed to establish working groups on several priority areas and to hold the strategic dialogue on a regular annual basis going forward.

The four-year pause in the dialogue was attributed to a combination of the COVID-19 pandemic, political transitions in both countries, and shifting diplomatic priorities. Analysts view the resumption as a positive signal for Macedonia\'s international standing.
