Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis confirmed that the Greek Patriot missile system intercepted Iranian missiles targeting a Saudi refinery. The system has been deployed in Saudi Arabia since 2021.

Mitsotakis stated that efforts are needed to ensure this incident remains an "energy shock" rather than a long-term crisis. He rejected concerns about deeper Greek involvement in regional conflicts.

Greece has thus confirmed its active role in defensive operations beyond its borders, marking a significant step in its military diplomacy in the Middle East.
