Minister of Foreign Affairs Timcho Mucunski stated that the tragedy in Kochani showed "the true power of diplomacy and international solidarity", addressing an international conference in Skopje on the anniversary of the catastrophic fire.

Mucunski emphasized that 115 patients received medical assistance in hospitals across Europe thanks to the activation of the European Civil Protection Mechanism and the support of numerous countries. He thanked the governments, ambassadors, institutions, and doctors who contributed with dedication to saving lives.

"The true power of diplomacy is not measured only by agreements reached, but also by saved human lives," said Mucunski, stressing that true friendships between nations prove themselves precisely in times of crisis.

The minister concluded with a message that Kochani will remember not only the victims, but also the moment when the people stood together - confirming that international solidarity remains an indispensable pillar of modern diplomacy.
