Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has deployed military forces to the country\'s border with Serbia, a move the opposition has swiftly dismissed as political theater aimed at distracting from domestic issues.

The deployment includes armored vehicles, additional border police units, and several hundred soldiers tasked with reinforcing border security. Orban cited the deteriorating security situation in the region and the risk of increased migration flows as justification for the move.

"Hungary will protect its borders by any means necessary," Orban said in a televised address. "We will not allow instability from the south to reach our country."

Opposition leaders accused the Prime Minister of manufacturing a crisis for political gain. "This is pure theater," said the leader of the largest opposition party. "There is no security threat at the Serbian border. Orban is using the military as a prop to boost his falling poll numbers."

Serbia\'s government responded cautiously, calling for dialogue and cooperation rather than unilateral military measures. The European Commission said it was monitoring the situation.
