POLAND: NO BASES, NO SOLDIERS! Foreign Minister: No Iranian Threat to Europe That Would Activate the Missile Shield in Redzikowo

Sikorski says Poland is not providing bases for US attacks on Iran; the foreign minister said the interests of the two countries are similar and largely overlap, but are not identical in everything.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated today that Polish soldiers will not be involved in the US and Israeli attack on Iran, and that the US missile defense base at Redzikowo in northern Poland can be used exclusively to intercept ballistic missiles if Iran launches them directly at the US or Europe.

"Polish and American interests are similar, they largely overlap, but they are not identical," Sikorski told the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, emphasizing that Poland has no intention of joining the war between Israel, the US, and Iran.

The Polish foreign minister stated there are no plans to send Polish soldiers, and no bases available to the US for attacks on Iran. The US missile defense base at Redzikowo in northern Poland can only be used to intercept rockets that Iran might eventually launch at the US or Europe.

"In the agreements I negotiated and signed, that base is designed to detect and destroy missiles threatening Europe and the United States. Iran will not be sending such missiles. The base in Redzikowo was built over years in anticipation of a hypothetical threat that has not materialized. Thank God," Sikorski said.

The minister recalled that, in addition to the government, Polish President Karol Nawrocki, as supreme commander of the armed forces, had already told Poland's main ally — the US — that he would not allow the Polish military to join the war against Iran.

"Both the government and the president express political solidarity with our most important ally, but also with our allies and friends in Turkey, Cyprus, and the Persian Gulf region. Poland has always stood for the security of Israel within its internationally recognized borders," Sikorski said.

He added that Poland must focus on what is happening in its own region, as the war in Ukraine rages on Poland's borders.
