Border police and traffic inspectors on the Gevgelija-Demir Kapija road stopped a 24-year-old driver from the Skopje village of Studeničani, suspected of migrant smuggling. When police signaled him to stop near Negotino, the driver did not stop, after which he was forcibly stopped.

During the vehicle search, police found 10 migrants from Egypt inside. The migrants were transferred to the "Vinojug" Reception and Transit Center in Gevgelija for further processing.

A criminal complaint for migrant smuggling was filed against the 24-year-old driver. The pre-trial judge ordered pre-trial detention lasting 30 days.
