A 17-year-old from Pescara was arrested in Perugia, in the Italian region of Umbria, for allegedly planning a school massacre. Seven minors are under police investigation.

The suspect faces charges of propaganda and incitement to criminal acts based on racial, ethnic and religious discrimination, along with planning an attack inspired by the 1999 Columbine High School massacre in Colorado, where 12 students and one teacher were killed.

Investigators found manuals with detailed instructions for manufacturing weapons, instructions for dangerous chemical and biological substances, and sabotage guides. Police also discovered the minors' connection to a neo-Nazi Telegram group that promoted white supremacism and glorified mass killers Brenton Tarrant and Anders Breivik.

The arrested teenager has been placed in juvenile detention by court order. The case has drawn attention due to similarities with previous school attacks in Europe and worldwide.
