SDSM is in deep crisis, with leader Venko Filipce recording an approval rating of just 3.6 percent among citizens, and the party is on the edge of statistical error, claims political analyst Manasievski.
"Filipce with 3.6 percent approval from citizens is still listening to Basanovic and Zaev," said Manasievski, pointing to leadership problems in the party and the influence of former officials on current decisions.
The analyst assessed that Macedonia effectively has no functional opposition due to SDSM's condition, which poses a problem for the democratic process. The party is failing to offer a credible alternative to the ruling majority.
The criticism comes at a time when SDSM is facing a series of electoral failures and internal party tensions over the future of the party and its leadership.
