SDSM Vice President Fani Karanfilova-Panovska criticized the Government's economic measures, claiming they "offer no substantive help for citizens" and come too late to address price pressures.
The opposition party warns that reducing VAT from 18% to 10% will have no effect without systemic measures to address food prices and excise taxes.
Karanfilova-Panovska pointed out that diesel prices have risen dramatically in the recent period, effectively negating potential savings for citizens. "Economic hardships are widespread, with many workers earning insufficient to cover basic living costs," she said.
SDSM proposed comprehensive anti-crisis measures including: deeper VAT reductions on energy, excise tax adjustments, elimination of VAT on basic food products and relief for the transport sector through reduced tolls.
The party claims these measures would directly impact price reductions, but the Government rejects them for political reasons.
