The SDSM Executive Board decided to initiate proceedings to expel former Skopje mayor Petre Shilegov from party membership.
The opposition party claims Shilegov was under pressure and that he is working for VMRO-DPMNE. "We uncovered the entire business scheme of Hristijan Mickoski in the energy sector, from Adamovikj to Rudnap. Now everyone understands why they want to destroy SDSM so badly," the party stated.
SDSM added that "VMRO has declined so much that their only remaining option is to try to destroy SDSM from within."
Shilegov declined to comment last night, citing respect for the tragedy in Kochani. He announced he would respond today.
The event deepens the internal party rift in SDSM, where part of the membership is demanding new leadership and changes at the top of the party.
