Skopje\'s City Park is undergoing a major renovation that promises to transform one of the capital\'s most beloved green spaces with new walking paths, benches, and extensive tree plantings.
The renovation project, funded by the city budget, includes the construction of new walking and cycling paths, installation of modern benches and lighting fixtures, and the planting of over 200 new trees and shrubs throughout the park.
"The City Park is the lungs of Skopje, and it deserves investment," said the city\'s mayor at the project launch. "When completed, residents will have a modern, well-maintained space that the entire city can be proud of."
The renovation will also address drainage issues that have caused flooding in parts of the park during heavy rains, and will add new children\'s play areas and fitness equipment for adults.
Work is expected to proceed in phases to ensure that large sections of the park remain accessible to the public throughout the renovation period. The full project is scheduled for completion by late summer.
