The Supreme Court upheld the 13-year prison sentence for Vasil Jovanov, the driver who ran over and killed Frosina Kulakova on "Partizanska" boulevard in Skopje.

Frosina father, Todor Kulakov, reacted to the decision on social media: "Emboldened killers - evil in full force... Only 65 percent of the maximum sentence... What else did he have to do to my daughter to get the maximum sentence?"

Jovanov was initially sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje, and the Court of Appeals later increased the sentence by one year to 13 years for serious criminal offenses against public safety in traffic.

The Supreme Court rejected the request for an extraordinary review of the criminal verdict, making the sentence final. Jovanov was driving drunk and without a driver license when he ran over Frosina.
