US President Donald Trump stated that the United States carried out "one of the most powerful attacks in the history of the Middle East," after the American Air Force targeted Kharg Island - the oil terminal through which Iran exports around 90 percent of its oil reserves.

The number of casualties in the conflict between the US, Israel and Iran has exceeded 2,000 across all affected countries. US military reinforcements continue to arrive in the region while allies intercept Iranian projectiles.

Iran retaliated with multiple waves of missile and drone attacks against Israeli and American positions. In parallel, the Strait of Hormuz remains essentially blockaded, creating serious disruptions to global oil transit.

Trump also stated he will reject unfavorable peace terms and that Iran is "completely defeated," even as military operations continue. Washington's regional allies are reinforcing defensive positions amid the risk of further escalation.
