VMRO-DPMNE accused SDSM of losing citizens' trust through contradictory statements and confusing messaging on migration issues in Macedonia. The opposition claims that leader Vanka Filipce made opposing statements - first characterizing Macedonia as "a large migrant camp and a dark spot in Europe," then denying those claims.
According to VMRO-DPMNE, the claims were refuted by all relevant institutions, including the British ambassador. The opposition calls SDSM "strategically weakened" with only around 130,000 votes and without a coherent vision.
VMRO-DPMNE characterizes SDSM's approach as spreading disinformation rather than engaging in constructive opposition, creating fear and confused narratives in the public. SDSM has not responded to the specific accusations. The debate over migrants continues to be one of the key issues in Macedonian political discourse.
