VMRO-DPMNE accused SDSM of losing citizens' trust through contradictory statements and confusing messages regarding migrant issues in Macedonia. The opposition claims that leader Venka Filipče made opposing statements — first characterizing Macedonia as "a large migrant camp and a dark spot in Europe," then denying those claims.
According to VMRO-DPMNE, the claims were refuted by all relevant institutions, including the British ambassador. The opposition calls SDSM "strategically weakened" with approximately 130,000 votes and no coherent vision.
VMRO-DPMNE assesses SDSM's approach as spreading disinformation rather than constructive opposition, with the party creating fear and confusing narratives in the public.
SDSM has not yet responded to the specific accusations. The debate over migrants continues to be one of the key issues in the Macedonian political arena.
