VMRO-DPMNE has accused former Prime Minister Zoran Zaev of accepting a 4 million euro bribe in connection with controversial construction projects in Tetovo that critics have described as turning the city into a concrete jungle.

The party presented documents it claims show that Zaev received the payment through intermediaries in exchange for approving building permits that bypassed urban planning regulations. The projects allegedly resulted in the destruction of green spaces and historic neighborhoods in Tetovo.

"Zaev sold Tetovo for 4 million euros," said the VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson. "He personally profited while the city\'s residents lost their parks, their views, and their quality of life."

Zaev\'s party, SDSM, categorically denied the allegations, calling them a politically motivated smear campaign. "These are fabricated claims designed to distract from the current government\'s own failures," an SDSM representative responded.

The Anti-Corruption Commission said it would review the documents submitted by VMRO-DPMNE and determine whether a formal investigation is warranted.
