Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that a possible calling of snap parliamentary elections "should not depend at all" on the results of local elections scheduled for March 29 in ten municipalities. The competent institutions will decide on calling snap elections, looking after the interests of Serbia and not any party.
Vučić left open the possibility that the 2027 presidential and parliamentary elections could be held separately. He predicted a victory for the Serbian Progressive Party in all ten municipalities.
The president announced that next year the SNS will select a presidential candidate to guarantee Serbia's independence. Regarding European integration, he stated that Serbia would accept EU membership "in multiple steps", with priority on borders, security, and the common market.
Vučić accused Croatia of being "the main logistical support for the demolition of Serbia" over the past year and a half, emphasizing that Belgrade maintains correct relations with NATO but will not join the alliance.
