Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at the commemorative speech in Vranje on the 27th anniversary of the 1999 NATO bombing stated that "if the world comes to destruction, there will be no doubt that the end began on March 24, 1999."
Vucic reiterated that every conflict being waged in the world today did not begin yesterday, but on March 24, 1999, when NATO launched the military campaign against Serbia.
The commemoration was held on a day when Serbia traditionally remembers the victims of the 78-day bombing campaign, in which hundreds of civilians perished and significant infrastructure across the country was destroyed.
Vucic's speech comes during a period of heightened global tensions, with active conflicts on multiple fronts - from the war in Ukraine to the escalation between the US, Israel and Iran.
