A devastating wave of Iranian ballistic missiles struck Israel, leaving more than 180 people wounded in one of the largest single attacks in the escalating conflict between the two nations.

More than 150 of the injured were admitted to Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva, with hospitals across southern Israel overwhelmed by the scale of casualties. Iranian state media claimed the barrage successfully struck an Israeli F-15 fighter jet on the ground, though Israel has not confirmed this.

The attack has had massive ripple effects on the global aviation industry, with losses estimated at $53 billion as airlines cancel flights, reroute operations, and face skyrocketing insurance costs. Airspace closures across the Middle East have disrupted travel for millions of passengers.

In a separate economic blow, Iran has begun charging $2 million in transit fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, further weaponizing its control of the critical waterway. The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed there has been no radiation leak despite missiles landing in the vicinity of nuclear facilities, but the proximity of the strikes to sensitive sites has raised alarm among international observers.
