During the trial over the fire at "Pulse" nightclub in Kochani, the administration of Kumanovo prison submitted a response to the complaints of the accused Dejan Jovanov, also known as "Gazda Deko". The administration confirmed that the accused had no complaints about the conduct of staff.

The only complaint related to the quality of the mattress and frequent searches of the cell. The administration noted that searches are standard procedure for all detainees and serve to prevent the smuggling of prohibited items – primarily mobile phones.

Defence lawyer Ivana Kocevska informed the court that verbal consent had been obtained for the transfer of her client to Idrizovo prison, but this procedure has not yet been finalised.

Dejan Jovanov is one of 35 accused individuals and three legal entities in connection with the fire at the Kochani nightclub in March 2025, in which 63 people were killed and over 200 injured. The trial is taking place at the criminal court in Idrizovo.
