Iran launched a combined missile and drone attack on the Al Jubail industrial complex in Saudi Arabia, marking a dramatic expansion of the conflict beyond the Persian Gulf theater.

The attack targeted one of the world\'s largest petrochemical facilities, causing significant damage to several processing units and sparking fires that took hours to contain. Saudi authorities reported multiple casualties among workers at the complex.

Saudi Arabia\'s Ministry of Defense confirmed that air defenses intercepted a majority of the incoming projectiles, but several missiles and drones penetrated the defensive perimeter. The kingdom described the attack as "an act of war" and vowed a decisive response.

The strike on Al Jubail sent oil prices surging to levels not seen in years, as markets assessed the risk of prolonged disruption to Saudi Arabia\'s massive petrochemical output. The facility accounts for a significant share of global petrochemical production.

The United States and European allies condemned the attack and called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council.
