The attack targeted one of the world's largest petrochemical facilities, causing significant damage to several processing units and sparking fires that took hours to contain. Saudi authorities reported multiple casualties among workers at the complex.

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defense confirmed that air defenses intercepted a majority of the incoming projectiles, but several missiles and drones penetrated the defensive perimeter. The kingdom described the attack as "an act of war" and vowed a decisive response.
