Lafcheski Concluded Pentagon Visit With Meetings at the Highest Military Level

General-Major Sashko Lafcheski, Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia, concluded his working visit to the United States with a series of meetings with the highest military representatives at the Pentagon in Washington. The delegation was received at the highest level, confirming the strong ties between the Macedonian and American armies.

Lafcheski met with General Randy George, Chief of Staff of the US Army, where both sides emphasized "the high mutual trust and cooperation between the two armies." The conversation was focused on the US Army's experience in dealing with modern conflicts, particularly regarding the development of new capabilities for addressing threats from unmanned aerial systems.

Additionally, the delegation met with Lieutenant General Peter Benhoff, Commander of G-8 of the US Army, and with representatives of the Defense Cooperation Directorate of the US Department of Defense. Within those meetings, issues of modernization and equipping of the ARM were discussed. The talks also emphasized the strategic importance of the Krivolak military polygon for conducting training and exercises.

Prior to the Pentagon meetings, Lafcheski also spoke with General Christopher Mahoney, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, and attended the ceremony for the transition of command of the Vermont National Guard. The working visit is a confirmation of the enduring strategic partnership between the Macedonian and American military structures.
