The Lavan oil refinery in southern Iran was struck in an airstrike which, according to Iranian state television Press TV, represents a direct violation of the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.

Iranian media report that American-Israeli forces carried out the attack, which was followed by a series of powerful explosions. Firefighting crews were immediately deployed to control the fire and secure the area around the damaged refinery.

"The attack was carried out in violation of the ceasefire regime," Press TV reported, stating that key energy installations in the south of the country were targeted. The strike on the Lavan oil complex was followed by multiple detonations.

So far there are no official figures on casualties or the extent of material damage, although initial reports suggest the situation is serious. Firefighting crews continue with extinguishing efforts while authorities prepare a detailed damage assessment.

The strike on Iranian energy infrastructure during the ceasefire could significantly intensify tensions in the region and have broader consequences for energy security in the Middle East.
