Macedonia and the United States are deepening their strategic partnership through new forms of cooperation in energy, digital transformation, and security, agreed at the Strategic Dialogue held in Washington.

A multi-million dollar package from the US is earmarked for defense, energy, and cybersecurity. In addition to the already announced 5 million dollars for cybersecurity and 3.5 million for the Ministry of Interior, the Strategic Dialogue also covered cooperation in the procurement of liquefied natural gas from the US.

The delegation was led by Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski, with the participation of Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski, Digital Transformation Minister Stefan Andonovski, and Energy Minister Sanja Bozhinovska.

Both sides confirmed their intention to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism, organized crime, illegal migration, and drug trafficking. A special focus was placed on building a cyber incident center with American technical assistance.

The energy component also includes diversification of energy sources, aimed at reducing dependence on a single supplier and strengthening the country's energy security.
