After 13 years without health insurance, employees at the public utility company 'Komunalec' in Gostivar are finally gaining access to healthcare.

Minister of Local Self-Government Risto Penov and the Mayor of Gostivar, Arben Aliu, announced this change as a correction of a longstanding systemic injustice.

'We have corrected an injustice that lasted more than a decade. Hundreds of employees at the company will finally have a basic right - health insurance', stated Aliu.

The problem dates back to 2013, when due to the company's financial difficulties, health insurance contributions stopped being paid, leaving workers without access to basic healthcare.
