A Facebook page administered from Macedonia has become the epicenter of a political scandal shaking Slovenia. The page, named "Masks Are Falling," publishes audio recordings in which Slovenian ruling party "Gibanje Svoboda" officials are allegedly heard discussing corruption and political manipulation.
The recordings include former party secretary Vesna Vuković in conversations about internal political matters. One recording mentions Infrastructure Minister Alenka Bratušek in connection with irregularities related to the construction of the second railway track on the Divača-Koper line.
Slovenian parliament speaker Urška Klakač Zupančič is also mentioned — allegedly receiving additional payments through the party, claims she publicly denied calling them "complete lies and fabrications."
Slovenian police are investigating whether the recordings are authentic and whether their creation or publication constitutes a criminal offense. The ruling party considers it a "dark political campaign" and does not exclude the possibility that the recordings were generated by artificial intelligence.
