March this year is bringing an early and pleasant spring to Macedonia. Meteorological forecasts indicate that temperatures this month will be approximately one degree above the 30-year average, with more sunny days and lower amounts of rainfall.
In Pelagonija and the southeastern part of the country, temperatures reaching 20 degrees Celsius are already being recorded – values rarely seen in March. This warm and sunny start to the month is raising hopes for an early and enjoyable spring season.
As for rainfall, expectations are for amounts close to or slightly below the seasonal average. This means predominantly stable and dry days, although temporary rainy periods and brief unsettled weather remain possible – typical for the winter-to-spring transition.
Meteorologists note that monthly forecasts are not accurate to the daily level – they reflect the general trend rather than the specific daily development. For greater precision, it is recommended to follow short-range meteorological analyses, which have a probability of over 90 percent of being realised.
The warm forecasts are good news for farmers, the tourism industry and all those waiting for the warm season. The early awakening of nature and the extended sunny days are an additional bonus that this unexpected "March gift" brings.
