The fire on the Jablanica plateau has been contained after military helicopters made 16 sorties dropping 16 loads of water over three hours. Ground forces from Struga and 12 employees of JP National Forests also operated on the ground.

The Crisis Management Center reported that three open-ground fires were identified during the day. Near Jablanica, in the Bitola region, a fire was contained in an oak forest near the "St. Dimitrija" monastery in the village of Smilevo. Fifteen forestry workers and twenty-two firefighters from Demir Hisar remained on standby.

In Gevgelija, the firefighting unit intervened for a fire on open terrain, with two firefighters and one vehicle deployed.

Fires occur frequently amid unusually dry and windy spring weather. The rapid intervention of military helicopters prevented the Jablanica fire from spreading, the Crisis Management Center reported.
