The health condition of Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dačić remains serious. He is hospitalised at the Pulmonology Clinic of the University Clinical Centre of Serbia, where he is being treated for bilateral pneumonia. Dačić has been intubated and placed on mechanical ventilation.
Doctors stated in their updates that "today, more than in previous days, there is reason for optimism," while noting that his condition remains serious. The medical team continues with intensive measures, with constant monitoring of vital parameters and the application of modern therapeutic approaches.
Doctors warned that his condition could change hour by hour and that giving prognoses while the patient is on a ventilator is premature. Concrete assessments of the development of his condition will only be possible once Dačić is taken off mechanical ventilation.
Dačić was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after his health deteriorated. The case has attracted significant public and political attention in Serbia, with numerous politicians and public figures expressing concern and conveying their sincere wishes for his swift recovery.
Among those who publicly reacted were well-known Serbian figures from the entertainment and music world, expressing support for the minister's family and condemning the negative comments on social media regarding his illness.
