Rabotnički come back from 14 down in Bitola, and Curry gives the Warriors a scare before the NBA tip-off

Curry slips at practice, Golden State hold their breath

Stephen Curry slipped while dribbling at Golden State's open practice at Chase Center, sprained his right ankle and limped off to the locker room. Steve Kerr immediately said the star was "fine", the club officially announced a sprained right ankle, and sources within the team say the injury is "not serious". It remains unknown whether Curry will play in the season opener against the Lakers. Last season he missed 27 straight games with knee problems, so in San Francisco "not serious" is heard with half an ear. The first real information will come from the injury report for the first game, not from a press conference.

Obradović: 450 games in Greece, all on the Panathinaikos bench

Željko Obradović coached his 450th game in the Greek league, against Peristeri in round three, becoming the fifth coach to reach that number in a league that has existed since the 1963/64 season. Only Soulis Markopoulos (712), Vangelis Alexandris (537), Giannis Ioannidis (489) and Argyris Pedoulakis (462) are ahead of him. The difference is that the Serb coached all 450 games with one club - Panathinaikos. In his first spell, from 1999 to 2012, he brought 23 major trophies, including five EuroLeague titles, 11 Greek championships and seven cups. This summer, at 66, he returned after a 14-year break. A Serb who is a bigger institution in Athens than most Greek coaches - the Balkans know how to embrace outsiders when they bring trophies.

Bodiroga promises a 24-club EuroLeague, but the rules aren't there yet

EuroLeague president Dejan Bodiroga confirmed that from next season the competition will have 24 clubs instead of 20 and two conferences, instead of the current system in which everyone plays everyone. The criteria for the split, he says, have not yet been set. He boasted of more than 3.3 million spectators in arenas and more than 500 million in front of TVs last season, and Dubai, Valencia, Paris and PAOK are mentioned as the main candidates for new franchises. He says he sees Crvena Zvezda and Partizan as long-term partners. New format, new money, new cities - but who will draw up the conferences, and by what key? When the criteria come after the promises, it's worth watching who sits at the table while they're being written.

Rabotnički come back from 14 down and conquer Bitola

Rabotnički beat Pelister 91:87 in the round-three Superleague derby, despite trailing 18:4 after six and a half minutes. The Bitola side also led at half-time (41:33), but the visitors won the third quarter 26:18 and, three minutes from the end, even built a double-digit lead. Pelister drew level at 83:83 with a 5:0 run, 46 seconds from time, but the Skopje side were calmer in the finish. Viktor Efremovski again led the visitors with 22 points, while for the hosts newcomer Nikola Kočović had a debut to remember - 30 points and five assists. Rabotnički are three from three, with Kumanovo up next. Pelister showed they know how to start - the question is why they don't know how to finish.

Kumanovo win the thriller in Kavadarci from the free-throw line

Kumanovo beat Tikveš 76:75 away, after a finish in which the hosts led by three points with 40 seconds left. Veterans Gjuroski and Cameron Gooden didn't blink at the free-throw line and turned the score around, and Tikveš's last possession, through Gligorijević and Zlatev, ended without a basket. Gooden was the winners' top scorer with 21 points and Andreja Stevanović added 15, while for Tikveš Sykes scored 27 and Smith 20. In the same round KK Skopje also celebrated a first win, 83:68 against Strumica. Three rounds in, and the Superleague already has two games decided in the final minute - anyone who says domestic basketball is boring hasn't watched either of them.
