If you click "That's fine" - or if you don't answer the banner and you are not in the EU, the UK or Switzerland - your browser gets a random tag (a cookie), which lets us see how you move through the site from visit to visit: which pages you open, which tools you use, whether you came from Google, Facebook or one of our links, and whether you're on a phone or a computer. We store no name, IP address or browser details with the tag, so it doesn't lead back to you personally. The data is kept for at most 13 months and then deleted automatically. If you later withdraw your consent, the tag is removed from your browser, and what was already recorded stays unconnected to you and is deleted after 13 months.

If you click "No thanks", the tag is removed from your browser, and from then on your page views and clicks only go into the overall totals, unlinked from each other. The same applies if you don't answer and you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland - then you get no cookie at all.
