Skopje pop duo Duper play the Anton Panov National Cultural Centre in Strumica on November 20, starting at 20:00. It is the first stop on their tour of Macedonian towns, which continues in Tetovo, Prilep and Bitola.
Duper are Boris Kakurinov on guitar and keys and Ilčo Nečovski on vocals and bass. They appeared in 2018 with the single "Ne sum tvoj tip" ("I'm Not Your Type"), whose video passed three million YouTube views by 2021. A year after their debut they won "Musical Discovery of the Year" at the Zlatna Buba Mara awards, and in July 2021 they self-released their debut album "Hiper", with the songs "Telo za na TV", "Nie sme 2" and "Probaj da mi bideš".
The tour comes right after the biggest stage the duo will stand on this autumn: on November 7 Duper share the bill with British singer Emeli Sandé at the Boris Trajkovski Arena. Strumica gets them in a completely different setting - a cultural centre hall, where the bass and guitar are heard up close, with none of the arena distance.
Tickets cost 700 denars and are on sale at kupikarta.com; the organiser is Pragma. For the Strumica crowd that means a gig by a current Skopje band without the trip to the capital - something smaller towns don't get every month.
