Anne Hathaway Pregnant at 43: A Short Video Without a Press Conference That Said More Than Any Interview

A short Instagram video, a white double-breasted coat and hands that open to reveal a bump - that was all Anne Hathaway needed to announce her third child at 43 years old. No press conference, no interview, just the caption: 'x Baby I'm yours x'. In an era when every piece of news must be sold, sometimes the greatest effect comes from the shortest message.

The actress has been married to Adam Shulman since 2012 and the two already have two sons - Jonathan, born in 2016, and Jack, born in 2019. The third child arrives at the peak of Hathaway's career: she is promoting 'The Devil Wears Prada 2', a sequel arriving twenty years after the original, and is simultaneously filming Christopher Nolan's new movie, 'The Odyssey'.

The news quickly made the rounds, with fashion designer Donatella Versace among the first to congratulate her - 'Yay!! Congratulations, my darling Anne' - alongside actress Lily Collins. Behind the smiling post, however, sits a heavier story: Hathaway previously spoke openly about the miscarriage she experienced in 2015.

Pregnancy at 43 still sounds like an exception to many, although it long ago stopped being one. Women do things differently - they build careers, wait for the right moment, don't ask for permission. Hathaway didn't issue a statement about it, nor did she need to. Sometimes the fact itself, stated quietly and without apology, is the strongest message.
