Laibach play the Youth Cultural Centre (MKC) in Skopje on February 26, 2027 at 20:00, as part of the "Laibach Musick Tour". The concert is brought in by Taksirat.
The collective was founded in 1980 in Trbovlje, and its name is the German word for Ljubljana - a provocation that got them banned from using it in Yugoslavia in 1983. Among their best-known releases are "Opus Dei" from 1987, their 1988 take on the Beatles' "Let It Be" and "The Sound of Music" from 2018. In 2015 they played Pyongyang, and in 2017 South Korea too, making them the only band to have played both Koreas.
"Musick" came out on May 1, 2026 on Mute and is their first studio album of original material since 2014's "Spectre". The songs take aim at a distorted reality and at imitations created by artificial intelligence, packaged in an openly pop form. In the meantime they have also released a song with Senidah and an official cover of Bijelo Dugme. With Laibach the question is always the same: are they imitating totalitarian symbols or mocking them? Forty-six years on, they still leave the answer to the audience.
The first batch of tickets costs 1,500 denars, in limited numbers, on sale through mktickets.mk.
