A Group Attacked Two Men With Glass Objects in Aerodrom: Four Detained, a Minor Reported Too

Five people have been reported for violence in the municipality of Aerodrom, and four are already under measures ordered by a pre-trial judge. E.M. and E.R. (30) were remanded in custody for 30 days each, while Gj.A. and A.R. (32) received house arrest for the same period. A separate criminal complaint was filed against one minor.

The offence is „violence” under article 396 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code - the aggravated form, the one applied when the act is committed by a group.

How it unfolded

According to the interior ministry, the incident happened on 16 August at around 01:15. It began with a physical confrontation between N.E. (36) and E.M. (43), both from Skopje. S.I. (23) got involved, trying to help N.E.

Then the scene changes. Within a short time several people gathered at the spot and attacked N.E. and S.I. with hard and glass objects, inflicting serious bodily injuries.

That shift is what makes the offence graver. A fight between two men is one thing; a group arriving and attacking with glass objects is something else - and the law recognises it with a separate paragraph.

The police moved fast, and that should be said

After the measures taken, the individuals were secured, identification was carried out and a criminal complaint was filed in coordination with the public prosecutor. The complaint was submitted by the Violent Crime Unit of the Skopje police directorate. The suspects were brought before a pre-trial judge, who ordered the measures.

From an incident at 01:15 to custody - in a little over a day. In cases that start as a street confrontation, that speed is not a given and deserves noting.

What is now before the court

The proceedings continue in coordination with the competent public prosecutor's office. All those reported are presumed innocent until guilt is established by a final court ruling.

What no period of detention will resolve is why, at a spot in Skopje at one in the morning, five people gather within minutes carrying hard and glass objects. That does not happen spontaneously - it means somebody called somebody. If the proceedings reach that question, this will be more than one more entry in the statistics.
