David Bisbal's home in Madrid: 3,000 square metres with the garden, oak slats instead of walls and a studio with a dartboard

David Bisbal is presenting his new album "Eternos" today on the TV show El Hormiguero - a project paying tribute to the great musical classics that shaped several generations. Ahead of the 47-year-old singer is a tour that will keep him away from Madrid, where he and Venezuelan model Rosanna Zanetti built their refuge. It is also where their three children are growing up: Ella (13), Mateo (5) and Bianca (3).

The couple married in July 2018, and since then their Madrid home has been their place of calm and rest. The whole property, house and outdoor spaces together, covers 3,000 square metres in an exclusive part of the city. The architecture is modern, the design careful and minimalist, and the materials noble: oak, natural stone and organic fibres.

The house rules are clear: natural light, visual order and a garden that comes inside. White is the dominant colour, in the spirit of so-called warm minimalism, but the space is not sterile - a purple velvet sofa and textiles bring it to life. It is minimalism that does not look like a hospital waiting room, and that is no small thing.

Slats instead of a wall

The smartest move in the interior is the wooden slat screen. Instead of walls, the spaces are separated by wooden battens - a technique from high-end interior design that lifts the architecture, divides areas and does not block the light. The idea works in a much smaller flat too, exactly where every ray of light counts.

The big table where the family gathers for every celebration also draws the eye. Made almost like a sculpture, it is clad in strongly characterful natural stone, and its legs are wide rectangular pillars that give a sense of solidity and permanence. Then there is the sculptural staircase, one of the main architectural features of the house.

The studio and the dartboard

Bisbal, who shot to fame after the first edition of Operación Triunfo and built an international career on songs such as "Corazón Latino", "Bulería" and "Ave María", has a privileged corner devoted to music. At the heart of the property is a luxury studio, fitted with everything he needs to work. On one wall hangs a dartboard, presumably for the moments when inspiration won't come and his head needs a break. It may be the most honest detail in the whole house: even stars with a 3,000-square-metre home sometimes just throw darts at a board.
