Danko Jones, the Canadian hard-rock trio out of Toronto and one of the most energetic names in contemporary guitar music, lands in Sofia on October 17, 2026. The show is part of the Rising Tour 2026 and goes down at Pirotska 5 Event Center, with Split Dogs as special guests.
The band, formed in 1996 by the same-name frontman (real name Danko Kaloudis), bassist John Calabrese and drummer Rich Knox, is one of the key figures in Canadian garage and hard rock of the 2000s. With 13 studio albums and regular European tours, they hold cult status especially in Germany, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. Tracks like Lovercall, Full of Regret, Im in a Band and I Gotta Rock are textbook examples of their style - short, direct, guitar-heavy cuts with the rock energy of the 70s, built for the live stage.
Danko Jones shows are famous for their intensity and the frontman's between-song monologues - stylised, witty riffs about rock and roll. The current tour setlist is focused on material from the new album, alongside early-catalogue classics. Pirotska 5 is a club with capacity of around 1500 in central Sofia - the right room for a guitar-rock gig of this size.
Tickets are available via ticketstation.bg starting at 44 euros. The show kicks off in the evening on Saturday, October 17, 2026. For Macedonian fans of what used to be called garage rock, this is one of the better neighbourhood options this autumn.
