Macedonian Nearly Drowned on a Greek Beach: Lifeguard Pulled Him Out at the Last Second

Another summer drama on the Greek beaches ended well - but only just. An older tourist from Macedonia, around 70 years old, nearly drowned at a popular Greek beach while swimming, until a lifeguard spotted him in time and dragged him out of the water before it was too late.

According to the available information, the man lost consciousness while in the water. Once he was pulled onto the shore, he was given oxygen and quickly came around. He was taken to hospital for observation, his condition fully stabilised within a few days, and he was discharged.

The case is a reminder of something that repeats every summer: the sea doesn't ask how experienced you are or how good you feel. Older people, those who don't swim well, and those who wade out deep without anyone watching are the most exposed. One minute of inattention, one current, and an ordinary summer day becomes a fight for survival.

This time the lifeguard did his job and the man went home. But not every beach has a lifeguard, and not every drama ends with oxygen and a hospital discharge. For the thousands of our people who head to the Greek beaches every summer, the lesson is simple and free: watch where you go in, don't swim alone, and don't underestimate the sea - it doesn't forgive.
