Simon Trpčeski plays the Macedonian Philharmonic on November 2 at 20:00 with the programme "Chamber Music Dessert". On the bill are Chopin, Grieg, Connesson, Shakhov and Shostakovich.

Trpčeski was born in Skopje in 1979 and graduated from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University under Professor Boris Romanov. From 2001 to 2003 he was part of BBC Radio 3's New Generation Artists scheme, and in 2003 he received the Royal Philharmonic Society's Young Artist Award in London. His debut album for EMI Classics earned two Gramophone accolades, and his Rachmaninoff recording with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic won the Diapason d'Or de l'Année for 2010. In 2011 he became the first holder of the title of national artist of Macedonia.

He has played with the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra, but the chamber format is a different kind of challenge: a smaller ensemble, an audience a few metres away. The organisers describe the night as close and precise - world-class virtuosity in front of a home crowd.

Tickets start at 1,200 denars and are on sale through kupikarta.com, at Roze Vero 2 and at JK Travel in Biser and Diamond.
