Sojuz play the Močvara club in Zagreb on September 25, 2026, starting at 8 pm. The collective that was born in Minsk and now operates out of Warsaw is coming to one of Zagreb's longest-surviving independent venues.

Sojuz is a creative collective originally from Minsk, Belarus, founded by multi-instrumentalists Alex Chumak and Mikita Arlou. After the move to Warsaw in 2022, the band was joined by Polish musicians Albert Karch on drums and Igor Wisniewski on guitar.

Their sound is loose psychedelic pop with subtle kosmische undertones and jazz soaked in atmosphere. They specialise in folk ballads and jazz-led pop compositions, wrapped in rich and often dissonant arrangements for strings and horns. It is a combination that caught the ear of people like Gilles Peterson at BBC Maida Vale, and also on BBC Radio 2, Radio 6, Worldwide FM, as well as in CLASH and The Quietus.

The breakthrough came with „Force of the Wind”, the first album they released for the Mr Bongo label, heavily marked by Brazilian popular music, with guest appearances by Kate NV and Sessa. Tickets are 18 euros, roughly 1,109 denars, plus a booking fee, through entrio.hr.
