Ten people blocked an arrest in Čair - police fired warning shots

On the evening of April 23, three police officers in Čair attempted to arrest a suspect wanted for a criminal offence. Instead of a routine arrest, they were confronted by a group of around ten people who physically blocked them. The Ministry of Interior stated that after warnings were ignored, officers fired warning shots into the air.

The suspect was not arrested - at least not then. The MoI said "measures are being taken to fully clarify the case and determine all circumstances." Who were the people who blocked the road? Did they have any connection to the suspect? No answers so far.

Warning shots in a residential area of Skopje - that is not everyday news. If ten people can disrupt a police operation in broad daylight, the question follows: who has authority on the streets of Čair when the police do not?
