American band Vapors of Morphine plays the concert hall of the "Sredets" Culture House in Sofia on November 15, 2026 at 8 p.m.

The group carries on the legacy of Morphine, one of the most original and hardest-to-define alternative bands of the nineties. They called their own style "low rock": a hypnotic blend of dark jazz, blues, psychedelic rock and noir atmosphere. Frontman Mark Sandman died in 1999, on stage during a concert in Italy.

At the heart of Vapors of Morphine is Dana Colley, co-founder of Morphine and the baritone saxophonist whose sound was the band's trademark. Today it's a power trio with electric baritone sax, drums and a two-string slide bass, an inheritance from Sandman's instrument. They play Morphine classics, their own music and interpretations inspired by African music, Delta blues and psychedelic rock.

The current album "Fear & Fantasy" combines Morphine's dark atmosphere with new arrangements. Tickets on bilet.bg cost 25 to 30 euros, roughly 1,540 to 1,850 denars.
