Fight Between Women in a Tavern Near Kumanovo: Skopje Woman Detained After Attacking a Kumanovo Woman

A night out at a tavern in the Kumanovo village of Zebrnjak ended with a fight and a police intervention. According to police, a 36-year-old woman from Skopje physically attacked a 46-year-old woman from Kumanovo, after which crews detained the suspect.

The incident happened on 5 July around 00:30. Police from the Kumanovo Interior Ministry office detained the Skopje woman and held her at the station to clear up the case, while it is being checked whether other people took part in the fight. Charges against the suspect will follow.

Details on the reason for the attack and on any injuries have not been released so far. The story looks like an ordinary tavern argument that got out of hand - but it's precisely such „ordinary“ incidents that most often say something about the atmosphere we live in, where an argument ends in fists rather than words more and more often.

The police did their part of the job - a swift detention, charges, an investigation. What remains is the question rarely asked alongside such news: what brings us to the point where a night at the tavern regularly ends in an intervention. That's not a matter for the police alone, but for all of us.
