Neno Belan headlines the Christmas gala concert of the Croatian Cultural Centre (HKD) on Sušak in Rijeka on December 12 at 8 p.m. The show is part of HKD's new season, which also brings programmes with Zabranjeno Pušenje and Alan Ford.
Belan was born in Split on February 2, 1962. In 1984 he founded Đavoli, a band that played fifties-inspired rock'n'roll and performed successfully until 1991, when the war cut its road short. Songs from that time include "Zaboravi" and "Ljubav postoji zbog nas".
He started his solo career with the 1993 album "Vino noći", featuring "Sunčan dan" and "A gdje si ti?", and the title track of the 1994 EP "Mama" was a contender to be Croatia's Eurovision entry. In 1998 he revived Đavoli with keyboardist Vedran Križan, which led to the line-up Neno Belan & Fiumens, with the albums "Luna & Stelle" (2002) and "Rijeka snova" (2007).
Tickets are split into three categories, from 22 to 30 euros (about 1,355 to 1,848 denars), and are sold via mojekarte.hr. HKD na Sušaku is on Strossmayerova ulica in Rijeka, Croatia.
