Bad Bunny Came to Wimbledon to Cheer for Djokovic: an Unexpected Friendship From Two Different Worlds

Sometimes the most unexpected friendships form between people from entirely different worlds. The rapper Bad Bunny showed up at Wimbledon to support Novak Djokovic in his first match of the tournament - proof that the bond between the two, which recently became public, isn't just for the cameras.

The Puerto Rican musician sat in the box reserved for Djokovic's family and team, while the Serbian player faced Wu Yibing on his return from a shoulder injury. Bad Bunny tried to stay unnoticed - a white shirt, grey hoodie, cap and sunglasses - but the crowd quickly recognised him. Throughout the match he applauded and reacted to the points, more like a genuine fan than a star who came for a photo.

The friendship came to light last weekend, when Djokovic attended Bad Bunny's concerts in London and took the microphone to shout a phrase from the show. A tennis player at the end of a glittering career and a musician at the peak of his own - at first glance they have nothing in common, except perhaps that both know what it's like to be the best at something while everyone waits for you to fall.

There were other famous faces in the stands that day, among them David Beckham with his mother. But it was precisely the image of a rapper cheering for a tennis player that defined the evening - a reminder that sport and music have long been one and the same show, just with different stages. And when two people used to being at the top recognise each other, they usually know something the rest only watch from the outside.
