Gwyneth Paltrow on Apple at 22 - Girl of My Dreams, Vanderbilt Grad, Chloé Ambassador

Just 22 and already with the title "girl of my dreams". That's how Gwyneth Paltrow described her daughter Apple on her 22nd birthday - with an Instagram post, a photo from a Chloé campaign, and a simple "I love you so much".

Apple replied even more simply: "I love you so much." Short, quiet, no theatre. And it all came at the moment when the girl, daughter of the actress and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, graduated from Vanderbilt University with a double major - art history and history - and was immediately announced as an ambassador for one of the most prestigious luxury fashion brands in the world.

The career path of the new generation is clear. Apple isn't going down the "heiress doing marketing at dad's company" route. She's going on stage and following her mother - modelling, campaigns, possibly film. Paltrow, who has spent 27 years in the industry and knows every step, speaks openly about mixed feelings: her children are leaving, and she's watching the last one finish university.

The family is broken up by Hollywood standards but firm in its own rhythm. Paltrow and Chris Martin married in 2003 and separated in 2016. Their younger son Moses, 19, studies at Brown. As a stepmother, Paltrow has two older children from her current husband - Brody at Yale and Izzy finishing at Cornell. A whole collection of elite campuses.

A Balkan mum reads this with soft eyes. When all your children are finishing at top universities, and your daughter is signing with Chloé at 22 - that may be a "comfortable Hollywood problem", but even for the biggest sceptic it's a quiet win for someone's 27 years of parenting. The only question is - does the parent manage to see it as a win, or just as the start of a new kind of silence at home.
