US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States is ready to deploy its navy to protect oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, in response to increased Iranian threats in the region.

"Regardless of everything, the United States will ensure free flow of energy to the world," Trump stated. The US International Development Finance Corporation will provide financial guarantees for maritime trade in the Persian Gulf.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard simultaneously declared full control over the Strait of Hormuz. "The Strait of Hormuz is under complete control of the Islamic Republic's navy," said a Guard representative, adding a warning that any vessel attempting to pass risks missile or drone attack.

The Strait of Hormuz is only 160 kilometers long, 39 kilometers wide at its narrowest point, but carries enormous strategic importance - approximately 20 percent of global oil and natural gas trade passes through it. Countries such as the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar use it exclusively for exports.

Trump acknowledged that fuel prices may continue to rise in the short term but believes that stabilizing the situation will bring them down. Analysts warn that only clear signals of de-escalation can prevent further rises in oil prices on global markets.
