Part of Kisela Voda Without Power Until 15:30: EVN's Planned Outage on Milan Mijalkovikj and Kavalska Streets

Part of Kisela Voda is without electricity today. According to EVN, the reason is „planned technical works" on the electrical system, meant to improve grid quality in this part of the city.

Which streets are affected? Part of „Milan Mijalkovikj" street and part of „Kavalska" street. Duration: from 08:30 to 15:30. Seven hours without power - long enough for the fridge to warm up, long enough for the freezer to lose its cold, long enough for people working from home to lose an entire working day.

The outage was announced in advance - that's the good news. But the question remains - why do planned technical works take so long? In developed countries, the same kind of work is done in 3-4 hour windows, scheduled to minimize disruption. Seven hours to improve „grid quality" sounds like a job whose planner never thought about how many people work from home and how many businesses depend on uninterrupted power.

For Kisela Voda, this is not the first time. The municipality has a history of repeated planned outages - always „for improvement". Citizens pay their power bills every month with no debate. But when their power isn't there - it's „planned". Compensation for lost time? Doesn't exist.

For readers living in that zone: keep manual access to the fridge, charge the laptop before 8:30, and budget for café coffee. Seven hours without power isn't a catastrophe. But it is a symptom. A symptom of infrastructure that needs more and more maintenance, while bills stay the same or go up.
