US Evacuates Personnel from Region: Embassies Closed, Evacuation of Americans Ordered

US authorities ordered the withdrawal of non-military personnel and their families from five countries in the region - Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar, Jordan, and Kuwait. The US Embassy in Kuwait suspended all consular services and closed its doors until further notice.

The State Department issued a direct message to all American citizens in the region: "Leave the Middle East immediately." The US mission in Saudi Arabia was closed following the drone attack on the embassy in Riyadh, and Americans in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dhahran were directed to remain in shelters.

The Embassy in Israel stated that it is not in a position to directly help American citizens who wish to leave the country or to organize evacuations. This leaves thousands of Americans in Israel without direct consular assistance.

The withdrawals came after a cardinal escalation of the conflict. Six American soldiers were killed in retaliatory attacks, while the Iranian Red Crescent reported 555 casualties on the Iranian side following US-Israeli air operations.

The endangerment of American diplomatic staff in the region represents a significant shift in Washington's security assessment - for the first time in decades, the US is simultaneously closing all its diplomatic missions in the Middle East.
